I have finally launched my own domain, and for now I have installed WordPress on it. In the future, I will share my achievements on this blog, and then share these post on other media, depending on where I see it fit.
What warranted this site is the fact, that I have completed the Linux Admin online course by Laba Hungary, which included system management, bash scripting, task scheduling (cron jobs), security and network management, and setting up a host, a website, and eventually WordPress, and you are looking at the fruit of it. That is right, this blog is hosted on a server I own and manage, from the DNS server, through the security on that server, to the web hosting. The only mandatory thing that I have to pay for, is the domain name, but not even the cloud hosting services should be necessary. For now, the domain is separated to two subdomains:
- https://www.jadaml.website/ – Here I will offer things that I program myself (more on that on a little later)
- https://blog.jadaml.website/ – This blog, where I try to update you of my findings.
My primary goal with the new domain, is to share with the world all the things I find during my work and my study, while also excitedly share the little, mundane thing I did and posed a moderate amount of challenge. These include things that is relevant to my professional career, like personal projects I am working on, technologies I have understood, courses or studies I’ve completed or improved, expressing both my personal and objective opinions on topics relevant to my profession, and may showcase the fruit of some of the other hobbies, like the one I (eventually start, any time now) work on, or whether the cactus I own have started flowering yet or withered instead. I also invite you to share your thoughts on these posts and (constructively) criticize the things I did wrong or even did right, as I also find personal growth important, and I can only do that if you support my endeavors with feedbacks. You can give feedback either by the comment box below each post—But only after you’ve consulted with my privacy policy that you can find a link to at the bottom of the page, and Akismet’s privacy policy, that is also linked next to the comment box—or by referring the post in your own blog post.
As for the https://www.jadaml.website/ site, I want to revitalize my old PHP project I have created, called PHP Micro Content Management System (or µCMS), and may use that subdomain to experiment with web programming, despite WordPress, as a CMS, is more than capable to build a full custom website. I also continue to study German; currently I’m around A1 and A2 levels of knowledge, which progress I will track here. I am also on the lookout to do other courses to keep my knowledge and skill set relevant.
Receive updates
If you want to keep track of my professional growth, or just interested of all the things I’m messing with, I recommend trying to register to the RSS feed for now, but I am also planning to share these post on my social media. I prefer to keep the domain light on collected data for privacy concerns, so I’m not considering managing a mailing list for this blog.
Contact
Beyond comments, I have provided a contact form. I am not looking forward to bots scraping my email address and phone number through here and then let them sell it to data brokers, so this will have to do. Beyond that, I have provided means for you to reach out to me through my social media, that I have also linked here on this site. Response time could be 1–2 weeks, so I ask for your patience.
